This is the website of Kaiah Callahan, Research Assistant at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
I wanted to be able to share updates from my research expedition to the Mariana Trench so that folks can follow along from shore, and I thought it would be fun to learn a new skill in the process so I decided to make my own website. This site was coded from scratch in html and css, my first time ever working with either of these languages. I’m very proud of what I’ve put together here, even if it is a little rough around the edges. Please let me know if you spot something that's broken!
This website will be very me-focused — I plan to share blog style updates of my activities while at sea and traveling, background about my work and involvement in the cruise, my watch schedule so you can catch me on the ship livestreams, links to videos you can hear me chatting in, and pictures I take! For a broader look at the cruise, check out the Nautilus Live website. They have all sort of cool stuff there like a map showing the path the ship had traveled, live footage of the submersible cameras, ship decks, and labs (where you might catch sight of me at work), highlight videos of the cool stuff we see with the submersible, and so much more. They also have several social media channels you can follow if that’s your speed. Even if I don’t have much time to update this site, NautilusLive will always have lots of content.
